2004 Meeting

The 23th biennial meeting of the International Association for the Study of the Liver was held on March 16th to 20th, 2004 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.


 
More than 700 participants from all over the world attended the meeting which was organized in conjunction with the 18th meeting of the Latin American Association for the Study of the Liver (ALEH). ALEH president was Fernando Sierra, the local organizing committee consisted of Luiz Lyra and Edna Strauss.

IASL/ALEH post-graduate course
The IASL/ALEH postgraduate course covered a wide range of hepatological topics and attracted a large number of participants
   
The scientific program of the IASL meeting comprised State of the Art Lectures from constituent associations, plenary and poster sessions, case discussions, satellite symposia as well as the Hans Popper lecture.
