About IASL
IASL members are hepatologists and specialists from other fields interested in the liver who share a global concern. IASL holds regular meetings every second year in conjunction with one of its constituent associations on a rotational basis.

IASL is composed of five Constituent Associations:
African Association for the Study of Liver Diseases;
American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases;
Asian-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver;
European Association for the Study of the Liver;
Latin American Association for the Study of the Liver.

Objectives:
1. To establish, maintain, sponsor and promote programs, projects and activities which foster and assist in the education of hepatologists in an international context.
2. To foster and facilitate in an international context, basic and clinical research into liver and biliary diseases.
3. To act in close conjunction with the Constituent Associations, as well as with other health organizations and foundations concerned with liver disease, to facilitate progress towards the prevention, recognition and treatment of disease of the liver and biliary tract.
